GemStone Bolsters IBM Platform With Virtualization Solution
By Tim Clark, Wall Street & Technology
Enterprise data solutions provider GemStone Systems recently announced that it will deliver xFire distributed data management and virtualization solution on the IBM BladeCenter Platform .
Many grid and high-performance computing environments are reaching limits due to the inability to deliver data quickly. xFire strives to drive new levels of business insight by helping to eliminate the bottlenecks found in data intensive computing environments.
xFire is a hardware and software solution that enables advanced data access, sharing and distribution from edge applications to core applications in real time, with no data latency. The integrated offering enables the virtualization of data across the enterprise, ensuring data-intensive operations perform with no degradation in performance or quality of service.
“Explosive trends such as electronic trading and grid computing coupled with surging data volumes pose both an opportunity and challenge to financial organizations,” said Juan Menendez, senior vice president of business development, GemStone Systems, in a release. “In order to effectively share resources across distributed enterprise applications, firms must be able to leverage data across multiple sources in real time, while ensuring data integrity.”
