Ark Asset Management goes live with Eagle Investment Systems for portfolio management and investment accounting; Ruffer Investment Management selects SunGard's ASP-based accounting and reporting service; Advent Software announces a new solution for hedge fund managers.

Ark Asset Management, an institutional investment-management firm specializing in equity and fixed income, has gone live with Eagle Investment Systems for portfolio management and investment accounting. Ark implemented Eagle Pace, a data hub and portfolio-management system, Eagle's performance-measurement and attribution module as well as Eagle Star for investment accounting. The implementation was done by I x Partners, an Eagle channel partner.

Ruffer Investment Management, a London-based asset manager specializing in private clients, trusts and charities, has selected SunGard's ASP-based accounting and reporting service. The solution, SunGard's ePal ASP, will be used private-client investment managers. In addition, Ruffer has selected a component to provide clients with direct web-access to their portfolios with SunGard's Portfolio Internet Managed Service.

Advent Software has recently announced a new solution for hedge fund managers. "Advent for Hedge Fund Managers," is comprised of five modules and will address hedge-fund accounting and reporting, according to a press release. The solution will be available in two packages, Standard and Premier, in order to address the varied sizes of hedge funds. The standard version will offer equity and fixed-income accounting through Advent's Axys portfolio-management application as well as P&L measurement and reporting tools. The Premier version will include the Geneva portfolio-accounting engine for securities coverage that includes swaps and distressed debt as well as multi-dimensional P&L reporting.
