re: Are Banks Using Social Media Effectively?
Banks still have a long way to go when it comes to social media. For starters, the SEC's reluctance (inability?) to issue clear directives creates confusion. That said, there are some banks who are forging ahead with social. Making money off of social, however, is a long way off.

It's interesting to hear that the prospect of FI's using social media to actually make money is not far off. That's a big leap from using the channel primarily for marketing and brand management.

It wasn't all bad luck for the capital markets this week: Hedge funds had a decent first quarter despite a slowdown in jobs numbers, BlackRock might be heading into new territory as hedge fund managers take a hard look at their counterparties, and the head of the IMF didn't pull any punches when assessing today's global economy. At least we can admire the nice weather and some of the best quotes of the week.
